Here is some broccoli news from the garden  for you to try different types of broccoli. Why not take a break from plain green broccoli and white cauliflower, and add some color to your dinner table?

It is unbelievable how tasty and good it is.  The flavor is unique and very creamy.

The plant is a biennial. It grows for an entire season and overwinters. In the spring the first thing it does is sprout small heads in dark purple crown. Since many of the plants are the size of a large shrub they keep producing as you trim the long stems.

And,

I really recommend growing purple sprouting broccoli. It sure takes a lot of space for at least a year, but it is well worth it if you have the space.
